Horsford On Target at Master at Arms Competion

The Northern Norwich District Scout Section Master at Arms competition took place at the 18th Norwich Scout HQ on Sunday 6th April. This was the 7th year that this event been held and 16 teams from 10 Groups took part.

The archery competition was extremely close with the first 5 teams separated by only 2 points and the final positions being decided on count back.

The results were…

Highest team score – Archery

1. 1st Horsford & St Faiths “B” team
2. 16th Norwich “A” team
3. 1st Horsford & St Faiths “A” team

Individual highest score – Archery

1. Harry Helson (27th Norwich)
2. Harry Dunn (16th Norwich)
3. Ben Graves (1st Drayton)

The shooting on the other hand was not quite such a close contest and, although all the teams did really well, the top prizes all went to 1st Horsford & St Faiths. It was evident that they had been practising hard and they showed everyone that practise makes perfect.

An opportunity to take part in the County Shooting and Archery competitions lie ahead for the top scouts in both competitions with the County Archery Competition taking place on the 14th June and the County Shooting Competition on the 20th September.

This event would not have been possible without the assistance of the qualified Instructors who supported the delivery of the two skills and the admin team who scored the shooting and pulled together all the scores.
