Wacky Races

This year’s District Cub summer event and Totem Pole Challenge was a “Wacky Races” day at the 2nd Reepham Scout HQ, where the Cubs took part in lots of fun games.

The Groups arrived from 09.30 on Saturday 9th July but by 10.00 “the heavens had opened”!!  The cubs got into activity teams (mainly each Group, although some did mix) and were given team names; The Boulder Mobile, The Creepy Coupe, Compact Pussycat, Army Surplus Special, Turbo Terrific, Buzzwagon, Bulletproof Bomb and Arkansas Chuggabug.  The Cubs then went out into the field (and into the rain) and started having fun by joining in the “wacky” games.

Tesco’s came along to let all the Cubs try different apples and drinks which they all enjoyed.

Luckily by lunchtime the sun had “come out to play” too, which helped everyone to dry out even though some still got wet on the Welly Race!  When everyone had taken part in each game, we enjoyed a large relay game.  While some leaders added up the team scores, others cooked the BBQ which everyone enjoyed.

Before we could go home the results were announced and the Totem Pole Challenge trophy was presented to the 1st Drayton.

Well done to all the teams who took part and a big “thank you” to the leaders who helped to organize the event, especially Suzanne, Roger, Jamie, Sarah and Neil.
