Arianna’s Success at District Shooting Competition

Arianna Stanton from 1st Horsford & St Faiths Scout Group walked away with all the trophies at this year’s District Shooting Competition which was held yesterday at the 1st Taverham Scout Headquarters. Her success was nothing short of exceptional as she took the trophies for the highest score in the Rifle Standing, Rifle Kneeling, Rifle Prone and Pistol individual competition. Her Troop took the overall trophy and she received the trophy for the Individual Combined Highest Score.

While the day belonged to Arianna and the 1st Horsford and St Faiths Scout Group, it was pleasing to have a record number of participating Groups and a very keenly fought competition throughout the day. Mention should also be given to the teams from the 16th Norwich Sea Scouts whose team pushed hard throughout the competition and the 2nd Reepham Scouts who finished a creditable third.

2. 16th Norwich “A” 1146 points
3. 2nd Reepham “A” 1054 points

Overall highest scorers

3. Joel Starling (16th Norwich) 297 points

Rifle – Standing

2. Aaron Marshall (Reepham) 82 points
3. Cole Knights (16th Norwich) 80 points

Rifle – Kneeling

1. Arianna Stanton (Horsford) 86 points
2. Joshua Clark (44th Norwich) 84 points
3. Ryan Dearden (Horsford) 83 points

Rifle – Prone

1. Arianna Stanton (Horsford) 90 points
2. William Dingle (11th Norwich) 87 points
3. Cole Knights (16th Norwich) 87 points

Pistols

1. Arianna Stanton (Horsford) 85 points
2. Joel Starling (Horsford) 78 points
3. Thomas Roberts (11th Norwich) 73 points

The District will select their top 8 shots to represent them in the County Shooting Competition in October.
