COWS 2022 – A Cub Water Fun Day

After a gap of 4 years, it was brilliant that the Northern Norwich Cubs were able to take part in their Cubs on the Water activity days at the Mike Thurston Activity Centre on Saturday 30^th and Sunday 31^st July.  Over the weekend almost 150 Cubs had a fantastic time taking part in kayaking, rafting, paddleboarding, archery and air rifle shooting.

After a very long dry period Sunday morning brought the rain which, while welcome for the grass at the site much of which resembled straw, did affect the activities we were able to offer, but the team quickly revised the programme to give the Cubs an opportunity to use the open canoes instead of taking part in the archery.  This was well received by the participants.

The event was only possible thanks to a small team of volunteers who worked tirelessly over the weekend to offer these activities on behalf of the District and we are grateful to them all for offering their service and skills.
